Dr. Adeola Oyenubi is an Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Finance, University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is currently the Head of Economics division at the School of Economics and Finance. His academic journey is deeply rooted in quantitative analysis. He holds a PhD in Economics and an MPhil in Mathematical Finance from the University of Cape Town (UCT), as well as a BSc in Statistics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. This unique combination of statistics, finance, and economics provides the foundation for his expertise in advanced econometric modelling and causal inference. His research stands at the intersection of econometrics, health economics, labour economics, and development economics, with a strong focus on applying rigorous quantitative methods to understand socioeconomic challenges in the Global South. Particularly his work explore heterogeneity in relationships that have implication for developmental outcomes and the implication of this for inequality. His work is widely published in leading journals, including Energy Economics, Social Science & Medicine, Feminist Economics, Empirical Economics, Economic Modelling, and Computational Economics.
