AEF invites African energy researchers, on the continent and in the diaspora, to submit papers or abstracts for presentation at a convening to be held in Kenya in November 2026

AEF will host a convening from the 23rd to the 25th of November, 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together energy researchers, policymakers, and donors to begin a collective dialogue on energy modelling and planning in Africa.
The three-day convening will include an in-person, academic conference, where African researchers from a range of disciplines, will present their latest research, showcasing the diversity and depth of ongoing work by the African energy research community.
Attendance at the conference is by invitation only, and interested individuals may apply to receive an invitation either as presenters or as ordinary conference delegates.
Researchers at faculty, Postdoc or Phd level may submit their papers or abstracts online for consideration to present during the academic conference. Submissions are due by midnight, Central African Time on September 20, 2026. Travel and accommodation costs of selected speakers will be covered by the AEF.
